The Hot-Spark electronic ignition
conversion kit is as easy to install as points and
condenser!
Determine whether your distributor has 1-piece or 2-piece
points, as older (pre-1968 or so) Bosch distributors typically have 2-piece
points. If it has 2-piece points, a pivot pin will remain, standing up from the
breaker plate, after you remove the points. Also, compare the points in your
distributor to the photo of points above, to determine whether it has left-hand
or right-hand points.
Note: Some BMW 2002 cars have a distributor with left-hand pivot pin points (JFUR4). The 3BOS4U1 will fit only distributors with right-hand pivot pin points (JFU4). If your 4-cylinder distributor has 1-piece, left-hand pivot pin points, order the 3BOS4U2L. Please compare the points in your car's distributor with the points in the above photo before ordering and attach a memo to your PayPal payment, indicating whether your distributor has left-hand (3BOS4U2L) or right-hand (3BOS4U1) points.
