Early Bosch distributors (generally pre-1968 or so) have 2-piece points. Some BMW, Porsche and Mercedes distributors have left-pivoting points; some have right-pivoting points. Please compare the points in your Bosch distributor to the photo of points below:

Determine whether your Bosch distributor has single-piece points, as early (pre-1968 or so) Bosch distributors typically have 2-piece points. If it has 2-piece points, a brass pivot pin will remain, standing up from the breaker plate, after you remove the points.

 

Sorry, we don't have ignition kits to fit early Bosch/VW distributors with the large distributor cap.
